• Laguna Niguel Regional Park. Laguna Niguel Regional Park is a public park in Laguna Niguel. Its biggest attraction is Laguna Niguel Lake, also known as Sulphur Creek Reservoir, located inside the park’s boundaries. Established for public use in 1973, it has a number of attractions, including the annual 4th of July fireworks show. Bring the family out to enjoy the volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, tennis courts, bike trails, playgrounds, barbeque pits, picnic shelters, and more.

• Aliso & Wood Canyons Wilderness Park. This park is nearly 4,500 acres of wilderness and natural open space. Originally, this area was part of the Juaneno or Acagchemem tribal land, but it is now under the jurisdiction of OC Parks. The park is known for its oaks, sycamores, and elderberry trees, as well as two year-round streams and more than 30 miles of official trails. Keep your eyes peeled to watch for the rare and endangered plants and animals who call this park—and designated wildlife sanctuary—home.

• Grab Dinner at Hendrix. Opened in April 2017, Hendrix was conceived as a restaurant to serve the local coastal communities surrounding Ocean Ranch Plaza at Laguna Niguel and Dana Point. From rosemary and lemon roasted chicken to Colorado leg of lamb, it’s easy to see why this restaurant was named one of the “Top 10 New OC Restaurants” of 2017.

• Cast a Fishing Rod at Laguna Niguel Lake. Located inside Laguna Niguel Regional Park, this 44-acre lake is stocked every week (in season) with thousands of trout and bass for fishing. You need a day permit prior to fishing, but you can grab one from the concession building. Don’t have a fishing pole? Rent a boat, float tubes, and fishing poles on-site.
